Astrology Calculators
19 free tools, each computed from the Swiss Ephemeris on the sidereal zodiac with Lahiri ayanamsa — the same settings an Indian astrologer works from. No login, and the result renders in the page.
Kundli & Birth Chart
Work out the pieces of your birth chart one at a time — ascendant, moon sign, nakshatra, divisional charts and the live planetary positions behind them.
Dosha
Check the placements classical texts flag as friction — and, just as importantly, the conditions under which they cancel.
Dasha & Transit
Vedic astrology times events through dasha periods and transits. These tools tell you which period is running now.
Remedies
Traditional remedial suggestions derived from your own chart rather than from a generic sun-sign table.
Numerology
Ank jyotish — the numbers derived from your birth date and name, and what the tradition reads into each.
No calculator matches that. Try “rashi”, “dosha” or “dasha”.
How these calculators work
Every chart-based tool here starts the same way. Your birth date, time and place are converted to Universal Time using the timezone of the birthplace, turned into a Julian Day, and handed to the Swiss Ephemeris — the same planetary engine professional astrology software runs on. The tropical positions that come back are converted to sidereal ones by subtracting the Lahiri ayanamsa, currently around 24 degrees. Houses are whole-sign, so each rashi is one bhava.
Those four choices — sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsa, whole-sign houses, Swiss Ephemeris — are the settings most Indian astrologers work from, and they are the reason a result here can differ by a full sign from a Western tool. Neither is wrong; they measure from different starting points. Each calculator page states the assumptions it inherits.
How much your birth time matters
This is the single biggest source of wrong answers, and it varies sharply by calculator rather than being one rule.
- Needs an accurate time. Ascendant, divisional charts, dasha, Mangal Dosha, Ashtakavarga — anything counted from the lagna or from the Moon's exact degree. The ascendant advances about one degree every four minutes.
- Usually fine without one. Moon sign, nakshatra, Sun sign, Sade Sati. The Moon holds a rashi for roughly 54 hours, so the date normally settles it — only a birth near a sign change needs the clock.
- Needs no time at all. Every numerology calculator. Mulank uses only the day of birth; Bhagyank the full date; the name numbers use no date whatsoever.
Leave the time blank and the chart calculators fall back to 12:00 noon. That is honest for a slow-moving result and misleading for a fast one, so the pages that depend on it say so where it matters.
Where to start
If you want the one number Indian astrology actually reads for prediction, use the Rashi calculator — that Moon sign is what every rashifal is written for, and reading one under your Sun sign is the commonest mistake people make. If you have a recorded birth time, the Rising Sign calculator gives you the ascendant, which sets the entire house framework of the chart. From either, the full free Kundli puts the whole thing together.
What these tools do not do
Every calculator here computes something with a defined classical method — a position, a score, a period, a number. None of them predicts events, and there are deliberately no "career prediction" or "marriage timing" calculators, because no classical text gives a deterministic formula for those and any output would be invented. Interpretations describe what the tradition holds, not demonstrated fact, and nothing here is medical, financial or legal advice.
