How it works
Vedic gemstone practice strengthens a specific planet rather than a month. The tool computes your ascendant, identifies its ruling planet, and returns the stone classically associated with that graha, along with the metal it is traditionally set in, the finger it is worn on and the weekday for first wearing.

How to read your result

- The reasoning is that a strong ascendant lord supports the whole chart rather than one department of it. Other schools pick the lord of a specific house instead, depending on what the wearer wants to support — which is a legitimate different approach, not a contradiction.
- This is a traditional practice
- Gemstone remediation is a classical prescription, not a scientifically demonstrated effect, and it should be described that way. What can be stated accurately is what the tradition prescribes and why.
- Combinations need care
- Classical practice is cautious about wearing stones for planets the tradition treats as hostile to each other. If you are considering more than one, that is worth discussing with an astrologer who has seen your whole chart.
What changes the answer
- Birth time matters, because the ascendant changes every two hours and the whole recommendation follows from it.
- This differs from a Western birthstone, which is assigned by calendar month and is a jewellery-trade convention rather than a chart-based one.
- Classical texts specify carat weight by body weight and require an untreated, flaw-free stone. A treated or synthetic stone is not held to carry the same effect.
- Your Lagna lord can never be Rahu or Ketu — the nodes rule none of the twelve signs.

What if my Lagna lord is Rahu or Ketu?
It cannot be — the nodes do not rule any of the twelve signs, so an ascendant lord is always one of the seven classical grahas. Rahu and Ketu have their own associated stones, hessonite and cat's eye, but those are prescribed for specific placements rather than for the Lagna.
